It’s the weekend! And what better way to start than a trip to my favourite beauty counters. Those of you who read this blog will know that I’m a massive beauty junkie, and with my first bloggers’ event tomorrow I decided to treat myself to some new beauty treats to make sure that I create the perfect look.
Of course, all of my products come from the high-street, which makes them even better, because who doesn’t love getting the luxury look without the hefty price tag?
SO, what did I buy? I honestly can’t get enough of L’Oreal at the moment, so there is no surprise that they made up the majority of my basket.
L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Quad in Marron Glace
Seen as I already have the La Palette Nude in Rose by L’Oreal, I was looking for a palette that will create a more smokey look. This was perfect, I love the grey and brown tones, especially at the moment. The colours are clear, easy to blend and are super long-lasting.
L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara
I’ve always said that I’d never use any other mascara other than Benefit’s They’re Real and Roller Lash, however after reading several reviews about this product, I had to try it. I have naturally long lashes, so getting a mascara that really shows them off is extremely important to me. I love the arched brush, which creates great volume, and dramatic curl. Since having tried this today, I think I may be converted.
L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Sculpt
I’ve previously reviewed the Brow Artist Palette and loved it. I’ve also tried to Infallible Sculpt Contouring Palette, which I was also super impressed with,so it only seemed right to test this out too. I’m currently using Gimme Brow along with the L’Oreal Palette to create a strong brow look, but with it being a bit on the expensive side, I thought this alternative a go.
This is probably the one I’m most excited about, as it’s very unique brush creates the most incredible brows. First of all, you apply the unique powder-to-cream formula using the felt tip end to define the brow, before using the bristle brush to fix and style them.
Make sure you head to your nearest drug store to pick this up- you won’t regret it!
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Coy
This season, I’m loving the smokey eye and brown lip look. I’ve used these balms before and loved them, especially as I have quite dry lips, particularly during the colder months. This colour is exactly what I wanted, a lovely brown shade but not overly brown. It glides on to the lips effortlessly and feels super soft.
Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion
I’ve previously used Dove’s Summer Glow, however I don’t tend to use fake tan. Unfortunately, this winter seems like it’s lasted a lifetime, and my skin is looking super pale. Also, due to the move to Paris, I won’t be having a summer holiday this year, so if I want a tan, I have to rely on one that comes from a bottle.
As I wanted to look a little browner by tomorrow, I applied it last night before bed and this morning after coming out of the shower. I noticed a difference after my first application, and was glad that it gave me more a of a subtle glow, rather than turning me in to a oompa loompa. However, one thing that struck me was the strong fake tan scent, but so far this is my only criticism.
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturising Shampoo & Conditioner
On Wednesday, I said goodbye to my ombre look and decided a change was well overdue. I opted to go much lighter, as my natural hair is close to black. I was over the moon with the result and wanted to make sure that it stayed for as long as possible.
I’ve always been a little weary of shampoos/conditioners that claim to lighten the tone of your hair etc, so I bought miniature bottles to test them out (I’ll let you know what I think).
I’ll be creating a look that’s perfect for the Spring Evenings using the products above, so I’ll keep you posted.
Would love to hear what your favourite beauty buys are from the high street, so please leave a comment to let me know what you think and to share your best beauty secrets.
