The Classic Red Lip

Red lipstick- a timeless classic that many women fear to try. Wearing red lipstick screams confidence, sexy and elegance when worn correctly, but if not, can look the exact opposite.
This is one of my favourite make up looks, as it is guaranteed never to go out of style, and will always be a good idea, so I’ve put together my step-by-step guide to help you ensure that you wear this bold look flawlessly.

It’s made up of 13 products, so I’ll split them up into groups:

* Base:

The combination of these three L’Oreal products- L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer, L’Oreal Paris True Match La Touche Magique Anti-Fatigue Illuminating Concealer, L’Oreal Paris Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation, will create a flawless face without feeling too heavy. I apply the foundation and concealer with a brush, before dabbing over my face with a damp blending sponge.

* Eyes:

You want to keep your eyes subtle to make sure your lips are the focus of this look. Apply a brown liner across your upper lash line and along your lower lash line and smudge using a smudge brush, before applying a taupe eyeshadow all over- this will create a simple yet smokey look. I used L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quad in Marron Glace and Rimmel London Exaggerate Eye Definer. Next up, apply the thinnest line of liquid eyeliner along your lash line before finishing off with your favourite mascara. For this step, I chose Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner and L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara.
Your brows are an important part of this look, as you want them to look strong but fairly natural. To start, I used the L’Oreal Paris Brow Artiste Palette before applying the L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Sculpt.

* Contour&Blush:

Like the eyes, keep it simple. Apply a small amount of contour cream/powder to the usual areas (cheekbones, either side of your nose, along your hairline and jawline) and blend using a blending sponge, before doing the same with a higlighting powder/cream (bridge of nose, forehead, chin, undereyes and cheeks). To add a pop of colour, apply a minimal amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. I used L’Oreal Paris Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette and Revlon Cream Blush in Charmed Enchantement.

*Lips:

The main focus of this look, so make sure you take care when applying your liner/lipstick. To start, apply a red lipliner around your lips, before filling them in to make sure your lipstick stays put. Next, apply your chosen lipstick carefully, avoiding any smudging around the outer lip area. I use No7 Precision Lip Pencil and BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick.
