Bath in Fashion Blogger Event

Incredible. The only word I can use to describe yesterday’s event.

On the weekend, I was fortunate enough to get a spot at the Bath in Fashion blogger event which was held in preparation for the fashion week in April. All details were kept very mysterious up until the day before the event, so I was unsure as to what to expect exactly, however the day turned out to be better than I could ever have imagined.

We met at the Fashion Museum in Bath and were greeted by the event organisers which then gave us a more detailed explanation of our activities for the day and what they expected from us.  At the end of the introduction, we were filled in with further details of Fashion Week, which is set to include some fantastic guest speakers and designer catwalks- so if you haven’t checked it out, it’s definitely worth a look.

At midday, it was our chance to check out the newest exhibition, HFx100 which showcased a number of breathtaking pieces from across the years, starting in the 1600s. If you’re a local resident or visiting Bath over the holidays, make a visit to the exhibition.

Now for the social media task, the main focus of the day. We were split in to three teams and assigned different areas of Bath. I was part of team MacDonald which was targeting Southgate, home of the stylish high-street stores M&S, H&M, Urban Outfitters, River Island, Boux Avenue and Debenhams to name a few. Our task was to pick an item/outfit in the list of stores given and to gain as much social media coverage as possible by tweeting/posting on instagram throughout our shopping adventure.
I think it’s fair to say that all of our wishlists grew massively throughout this task, but here are a few of my favourite “Brights and Stripes” looks from yesterday:

* Marks and Spencer

* H&M

* Urban Outfitters

* River Island

* Boux Avenue

* Debenhams

To say we received a few extra special treats would be an understatement.

Our first lot of goodies were from Boux Avenue, where we were treated to a free bra fitting and a set of underwear of our choice. I can’t praise the lovely Boux Avenue girls enough- they offered us the highest level of professionalism and made it a really enjoyable afternoon for us bloggers.On top of the set of underwear, they gave us the White Jasmine Heart Gift Set full of bath time goodies and a White Chiffon Scented Drawer Sachet, all packed away in their gorgeous tissue paper and rose petals.

To end our activity, we headed over to Debenhams where we were greeted by Elodie from the Personal Shopper department. Upon arrival, we were taken down to the Benefit Cosmetics counter and welcomed with a glass of prosecco and a lesson in brow mapping and contouring- every beauty bloggers dream. In addition to this, we were also free to have a play around with the products on offer- I’m already eyeing up the Cha Cha tint for the summer months.
Next up was Urban Decay, another personal favourite. Danielle talked us through their most popular items-the gorgeous Naked Palette, Perversion Mascara,  24/7 Glide-On Pencil, Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion and the All Nighter Long-Lasting Make Up Setting Spray (which is incredible) and gave us a sneaky preview of what to expect from the company in the future months (keep your eyes peeled).

After our beauty lessons, it was back to the Personal Shopper suite to pick out some outfits and receive even more goodie bags- full of luxurious samples which I can’t wait to try out.

As if the day wasn’t amazing enough, to finish we regrouped with the other bloggers for cocktails at Be At One, my favourite cocktail bar in Bath, where we were treated to cocktails, which were definitely needed after an afternoon of rushing around the shops. This was a lovely end to the afternoon as we were able to find out what the other bloggers had gotten up to and share stories.
But apparently two goodie bags weren’t enough, so we received another from Bath in Fashion, including some great gifts from Seasalt, Brora and Chanii B.

It is days like yesterday that makes the hard work and long hours of being a blogger worthwhile, and I can’t thank the event organisers enough, Sarah & Abi in particular, and Southgate for a lovely, fun-filled day.
It was so great to meet you, and all of the other bloggers involved throughout the day (I’ve already penciled in the next one)

See you all at fashion week,

H xx
