Travel | How to spend one day à Paris

Two months in to my Parisian adventure and I now see Paris for what it truly is.. a beautiful and enchanting, not simply the  Eiffel Tower and Le Louvre. The best thing about being out here, is being able to show my favourite spots in the city to my friends and family. Usually their visits only last a weekend, so it’s a bit of a mad rush when it comes to fitting everything in to one trip, but here are my must-sees, so if you’re in Paris on a whirlwind trip, make sure you follow this guide.

Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre

Looking for the best views of Paris ? Arc de Triomphe ? Tour Montparnasse ? Eiffel Tower ? None of the above… For me, the view from the dome of the Sacré-Cœur beats the lot.

Situated in Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement, this gem is only a short metro ride from the Gare du Nord. On a clear day, the 360 view will give you the most incredible views of the city, and for only six euros… BUT, be careful, the view may come at a cheap price, but you will have to climb 300 steps first.
Once you’ve finished in the dome, you can then enjoy free entry into the Sacré-Cœur and admire the stunning architecture before catching the cable car back in to the centre of Montmartre.

Jardin des Tuilleries

If there’s one thing Paris is famous for, it’s the incredible gardens on offer, and for me, this is top of the list. Located between Le Louvre and Place de Concorde, these gorgeous gardens are the perfect place to spend your afternoon. Offering magnificent views of Le Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, these gardens are the perfect place to unwind, have a drink and enjoy an ice-cream from the infamous Amorino stand.

River Seine

Forget the bus and boat tours, a stroll along the Seine will allow you to absorb all of the views at your own pace. Here this month ? Make sure you check out Paris plage- the manmade beach in the heart of the city. Walk along as far as the Eiffel Tower for a range of bars/restaurants and take outs to enjoy the lovlely views.

How would you spend 24 hours à Paris ?
Please let me know your favourite spots in the city, I’m always looking for a new spot.
